Feeling fatigued or weak are common symptoms of many health conditions, one of which is anaemia.
What is anaemia?
Anaemia is the condition that is experienced when you have a deficiency of iron in your blood.
Are there other symptoms?
Symptoms of the condition, apart from feeling tired and weak, may include having pale skin, feeling dizzy, shortness of breath, cold hands and feet, brittle nails and a heart that beats faster than normal.
It is important to know that you may not experience all of the symptoms to be diagnosed as anaemic.
What should you do if you think that you are anaemic?

Treatment
Treatment may include taking iron supplements. Be sure to chat to your doctor about possible side effects.
Who is at risk of iron deficient anaemia?
The following people may be at risk of experiencing this condition:
- menstruating women,
- pregnant women,
- those with a diet that lacks iron rich foods,
- people with renal failure
- As well as sufferers of certain gastrointestinal disorders.
